May Julep Maven Review

Or is it April? I'm not quite sure if the April 20 reveal is for the April or the May box...

There's my box! A maven subscription is $24.99 per month and now includes unlimited skips. Hence why I haven't cancelled and could see myself taking a box every three months or so for years. The box I'm sharing today was a customized My Maven with $19.98 in add-ons (Around $45 US, shipping included). I only added two items on where as three add-ons usually include a gift.

The fun stuff! A That's Balm Plush Pout, Fluid Eye Glider and Don't Leave Your Brows at Home.

Here's a product that I waited to get until this month. That's right, 30 some days of thinking about it, and I decided to go for it. I picked Cool Brown although Warm Brown may have been a good match too. The powder isn't a powder for me, it's dried down and think. I don't think it dried out, I think marketing has used a common (yet misleading) term.

It's Balm in Vintage Mauve. This is much lighter than I expected. The formula is just as nice as my Almond Nude (and Cardinal Red).

Fluid eye liner in Jet Black. I got this to replace my Stella liquid liner (over 6 months old so I tossed and replaced). I like it. I was able to get a reasonably crisp line. I suspect this will get more use after my return to work when I might have less time for Super Star Serum and Foil Me.

Swatches! Julep Fluid Liner in Jet Black, That's Balm Lip Pout in Vintage Mauve, and Don't leave your Brows in Cool Brown.

Some practical items I like (hopefully not too early to be replacing the ones I have). The Oxygen Base and Top Coats.

And that's my box. Use Promo Code Spring30 to save 30% this month if you're a maven.

I have mixed feeling about Julep, but I think I was able to pick products I really wanted to try/will work for me. In the interest of my budget (and possibly to review my nail polish collection) I will be passing on the next month or two. Please use my code if you are interested in getting your first box free.

Again, look at how light that mauve it. I'm pretty pale and the website displays it as a mid-range purple.
